IL PRINCIPE Rosso di Toscana IGT

Niccolò Machiavelli inherited the Sant'Andrea in Percussina farm on the Chianti Classico hills from his father, messer Bernardo di Boninsegna, and retreated there in exile from Florence in the early 16th century. “Vermiglio” wine, an ancestor of today’s Chianti, was already produced back then, and aged in the deep cellars of Casa Machiavelli. Today, Chianti Classico Machiavelli is made using modern winemaking techniques, while respecting the Casa’s great tradition. This Riserva is named after a vineyard that existed when Niccolò Machiavelli owned the farm, close to a spring of very pure water.
