Born in 1960, he is pure Modena stock just like the wines he makes. He studied at the Istituto Superiore Statale for Viticulture and Oenology in Conegliano Veneto.
After some successful marketing and sales experiences, he joined the family business in San Prospero, where he remained even after Cavicchioli joined the Gruppo Italiano Vini in 2011.
He continues in his role of manager of the production and bottling plant, and of the grape crushing and processing cellar in Sorbara.
Sandro Cavicchioli plays some leading roles in the winemaking world: a member of the Consorzi dei Lambruschi Modenesi DOC and of the Consorzio del Franciacorta technical committee, chairman of the Emilia section of the Assoenologi and national board member, as well as board member of Unione Italiana Vini and the DOC Appeals Commission at the Ministry of Agriculture.
